Terms of Use

These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement govern your access to and use of the Marginality app, website, and related services provided by Spark Digital LLC.

By downloading, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Marginality, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Marginality.

Marginality is a Bible study app for reading Scripture, taking verse-linked notes, organizing notebooks, managing bookmarks and highlights, importing written notes, connecting study content to Scripture references, and syncing supported account-backed content across devices.

• Free features may include Bible reading, local notes, limited notebooks, limited bookmark categories, and starter usage for selected premium workflows.
• Marginality+ is the paid tier for additional study capabilities, including written-note import credits, sync across devices, verse-linked video processing, more notebooks, and more bookmark categories.
• Features, limits, and availability may vary by platform, app version, region, account status, and third-party service availability.

Subject to these Terms, Spark Digital LLC grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Marginality for your own lawful Bible study and note-taking purposes.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or create derivative works from Marginality except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be waived.

Some Marginality features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Marginality+ is an auto-renewing subscription where offered through Apple, Google, Stripe, or another supported billing provider. The subscription provides ongoing access to paid features and service-backed processing while your subscription remains active.

Before purchase, Marginality or the applicable platform purchase sheet will show the subscription title, billing period, price, and purchase confirmation. In the United States, the current launch price shown in Marginality is $9.99 per month unless the applicable purchase sheet or checkout page shows a different price.

• Subscription title: Marginality+.
• Billing period: monthly, unless a different period is shown before purchase.
• Included value: written-note imports, sync across devices, verse-linked videos, more notebooks, more bookmark categories, and other paid study capabilities described in the app.
• Current usage limits: Marginality+ currently includes 100 written-note import pages per month and 50 hours of verse-linked video processing per month. Free starter usage currently includes 5 written-note import pages and 1 video up to 1 hour.
• Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through the billing provider before renewal.
• Cancellation: you can cancel or manage your subscription through the platform or billing provider used for purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by the billing provider and are subject to that provider's refund policies.

If Marginality+ ends, your notes, bookmarks, imported notes, and previously processed verse-linked study material remain yours. Premium-only creation, processing, expanded organization, and sync may pause until Marginality+ is restored or your account returns within free limits.

You retain ownership of notes, notebooks, bookmarks, highlights, imported files, scan text, feedback, and other content you create or submit through Marginality.

You grant Spark Digital LLC a limited license to host, store, process, transmit, display, sync, back up, and otherwise use your content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve Marginality.

• You are responsible for the content you create, upload, import, or share.
• Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.
• Do not use Marginality to store or distribute unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, or malicious content.

Bible translations, Scripture text, videos, external links, payment services, hosting, authentication, storage, artificial intelligence services, and other integrations may be provided by third parties and may be subject to separate terms, licenses, attribution requirements, and usage restrictions.

You agree not to remove copyright notices, attribution, translation identifiers, or other licensing information shown in Marginality. Access to particular Bible translations or study-content integrations may change if licensing, provider availability, technical limits, or legal requirements change.

You agree not to:

• use Marginality for unlawful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, or harmful purposes;
• interfere with, overload, scrape, attack, probe, or bypass the security of Marginality or its providers;
• misrepresent your identity, subscription status, payment status, or authorization to use content;
• use automated systems to extract data or content from Marginality except through interfaces we expressly provide;
• attempt to bypass usage limits, paid feature gates, account restrictions, or platform billing requirements.

Your use of Marginality is also governed by the Marginality Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and share information.

We may update, improve, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of Marginality from time to time. We work to keep Marginality reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Some features depend on internet access, platform stores, billing providers, cloud services, Bible licensing providers, video platforms, AI processing services, or other third parties outside our direct control.

You may stop using Marginality at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to Marginality if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created legal risk, abused the service, or used the service in a way that could harm users, Spark Digital LLC, or third-party providers.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions about subscriptions, user content, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute terms.

Marginality is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spark Digital LLC disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Marginality is a study and organization tool. It does not replace your responsibility to verify Scripture references, translation licensing, theological interpretation, notes, generated or processed text, and other study outputs before relying on them.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spark Digital LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost content, service interruption, or loss of goodwill arising from or related to Marginality.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spark Digital LLC's total liability for claims related to Marginality will not exceed the amount you paid to Spark Digital LLC for Marginality during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

If you download Marginality through Apple, Google, Microsoft, or another platform, your use of Marginality may also be governed by that platform's terms, rules, and purchase policies.

For Apple-distributed versions, Apple is not responsible for Marginality or its content except as required by applicable platform terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for Apple-distributed versions and may enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary where applicable.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app, website, store listing, or another appropriate channel.

Your continued use of Marginality after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
